Farewell to Tori Garcia

POD staff and colleagues came together yesterday to say farewell to Tori and wish her every sucess in her new role at Nechells Primary School.  Tori left this message for everyone:

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all of you who have supported me in my role as the Heartland Cluster Parent Support Advisor. Many of you will already know that I will be leaving this post on the 31st March to take up a new role based in Nechells Primary School. Parent support will still be available at the POD but delivered by another worker.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time based at the POD and I have been touched by how welcome I have been made to feel by the local community.
I have met some wonderful people during my three years here. There have been many memorable events along the way, especially the camping holiday to Bournemouth with local families, the community fun day and also the Sound It Out Project. I hope you enjoyed these experiences as much as I have.

I am particularly proud of the Parents Forum which meets monthly at The POD and works on a variety of issues such as schools attendance, street champions and local concerns. The Parent Forum will continue and I will still be actively involved with this group.

To the people that have shown continued commitment I thank you sincerely as without you some of the projects would not have been so successful.

Nechells is a wonderful place with a really strong sense of community spirit.
I have met a number of local residents and professionals that are making a huge difference. Keep up the good work!
